I began working on some flyer designs to promote Jill's practice. She made it clear that new promotion was important as she currently doesn't have a large enough client base.
Context
The flyers would be possibly displayed in shop windows such as coffee shops, vegetarian foods shops, delis and restaurants. Other possible location could be cinemas or theatres and not necessarily in the front window.
Purpose
The flyer needs to communicate Jill's practice, what the lessons entail, the contact details and the location Jill practices in (Nottingham)
Flyer Development
I began by exploring the use of the 7 Chakra colours, something which Jill suggested. I began by experimenting with gradients quickly developing different compositions.
This second posters again uses the Chakras red circle represents the practitioner and the six other circles represent the students.
Variation of the last poster.
I started experimenting with geometric shapes of 7, 7 being the amount of Chakras in the human body. I like how this poster visually looks and can imagine a set of variations being feasible. The poster also stands out from a distance.
It could also work digitally as a favicon for example. This will need exploring further.
The next poster was a development of the other circle posters with a more random structure. I was interested in changing the scale as the other circle images looked to 'bulky'
A simple illustration of the Chakras. This one I won't use but it was useful to explore the idea in order to dismiss it.
The idea of this poster is its trying to express visually a cluttered mind. It would need to show the uncluttered version to make sense though, this is something I will develop further.
The only thing that is different here is the layout of the type.
I am going to develop this poster more. It simply shows a set of closed eyes. Closing your eyes is essential in meditation. I used the same eyes here but I can imagine it would look visually better if each of the eyes were unique and also more circular.
I will also play with the copy changing the size of the heading and also only included essential body copy.
