End of Year Show - Second Critique

We received the following feedback:

Have you tried you using paint that creates a dripping effect?

We originally wanted this effect but we only had the acrylic on hand within the college. This is something we have considered. Again we wanted to use spray paint but at the current scale this is not possible. Although Luke mentioned the idea of using a stencil which we thought could be a really good way of still using the spray paint.

Have you tried using paper folding to create the same effect?

We did try this technique and I think we should continue experimenting with it to see if we can achieve a desirable result - up to now we haven't had any luck.

Have you thought about how this will apply across a range of media?

We are currently thinking about how we can tie all of the deliverables together in a coherent way which makes sense as a set.

How will you translate this onto the outside billboard?

We like the idea of having a blank poster and then creating the alternative meaning in a live sense that we use a ladder and spray the 'Grim' to 'Great. This might not be practical but it would look awesome and the context would also be interesting.

We also spoke about the potential of using glow in the dark paint to create an effect at night. We are still working out how the concept could work visually before applying different techniques to it.

How will you create the changing animation effect using print?

This is a good question. We thought about using lenticular printing - this mean that when the paper is turned at a different angle the message of the paper changes. This would allow the audience to play with the media and change the message.
