Interactive type
I liked the concept of using interactive type to engage the intended audience. From doing my initial research it became apparent that the audience who would be viewing Ryan's work would be people he was interested in working with, predominantly working professionals.
We met and I showed him the examples below I thought could potentially work somehow within his branding.
I Amsterdam
The first example I showed him was the I Amsterdam 3d type that members of the public can interact with by climbing on the glyphs and taking photos. The branding acts as a site seeing opportunity which in turns promotes the city incredibly well. If people are taking holiday photos people can denote the word Amsterdam immediately. A clever example of interactive branding.
Obviously I couldn't physically create this exact idea for Ryan but something maybe 2D with photographic portrait interaction could be something to consider.
Mike Giant
Ryan had some of his own ideas. He presented this typeface by a Graffiti artist called Mike Giant. He liked how the letterforms represented graffiti something he is interested in.
Hadron
www.tendollarfonts.com/
From the Mike Giant typeface I showed Ryan a website called 10 Dollar Fonts. They provide cheap fonts. I showed Ryan the experimental fonts such as Hadron. I thought these font would be more appropriate for Ryan's branding.
Atelier Neue
Alpine
We decided we both preferred Alpine to the other fonts listed here and decided to purchase this font.
