Robinhood - Brand guidelines

After creating the logo type an d logo symbol I designed the  brand guidelines. I feel this help clarify with myself as well as potential other designers who may use the brand. Once it is set in stone you know what you have to do with the brand when applying it to various medium.

Logo type

By keeping the logo type simple using a sans serif typeface it allows it to be applied across multiple platforms easily. It stops it dating and also it is inline with the industry that Robinhood operates within. The ampersands was necessary to cut the length out of the logo type.

The typeface I used was Circular STD. My choice of font was influenced by the fact that the logotype needed to be extremely clear. The environment and industry that the logo will appear in means that aesthetics require a professional, bold look.

Logo symbol

The logo symbol is basically a simplified target. This plays on the idea of Robinhood and 'hitting the target'. I found the logo symbol development process almost tiring and began losing patience with the brief. I started over complicating things and trying to juggle the brief with amendments from the client. I finally decided a simple logo symbol was best for providing the industry the client work within. I had to explained this concept to the client and reassure him it was the best option for his brand and business.
