End of Year Show - Feedback

We were a little disappointed with the result as we didn't get picked to do the End of Year Show. It was ok though because we felt we produced two decent concepts which also applied to the practical work.

We received the following feedback:

Hi Sam, Chris and Sam,

Thank you for submitting your entry for the End of Year Show brief 2014.

Today a variety of staff members that work at the college, including the senior management team and marketing all voted on all the submissions we received for the end of year show design competition. All were of a high standard and it was a close call on entries.

I’m afraid to say though that your entries weren’t chosen to go forward. As I said it was a very close call and your entries received some really good comments from staff. You put in a lot of work by submitting two concepts, so we really thank you for that. Overall comments felt that your concepts weren’t quite right this time to promote the end of year show. We wanted something a little different this year and felt yours had glimmers of previous years concepts and we didn’t want to repeat.

Please don’t let this dishearten you. We really hope you continue to produce great concepts and design work. Keep an eye out for any further competitions that we’ll be running, as there will be other projects coming up in future.

If you’d like to collect your boards the marketing office then please pop along during work hours to collect them.

Summary

They felt the concept and application was too similar to the previous years which they didn't want to repeat. I felt this was a fair comment and will consider it next time.
